Who We Are
In 2021, the Mayor of Atlantic City and the leadership of the One Neighborhood Evolution Anti-Violence Program knew that training, mentoring and employing youth was a great deterrent to juvenile delinquency. As such, in addition to the day to day duties of the unit, they started with (20) twenty youth to train, mentor and employ after school. In 2024, they decided to expand the youth employment program and contracted with Empowerment Tools Coalition to organize and construct a youth employment program that could train, mentor and employ over (200) two hundred youth for the summer. Thus the “Train to Work” Workforce Development program was born. The program is designed to provide invaluable life skills, vocational training and personal development enhancement.
The Program will run for (8) eight weeks from June 24th to August 24th. With varying start dates. We will have (3) three programs that will operate as one. We will receive youth from the Atlantic County Workforce Development Board, the NAN Techworld non-profit, the City of Atlantic City and Empowerment Tools Coalition.
We will hold (3) Ready to Work Workshops May 4th, May 11th and May 18th where we will get at least (240) two hundred and forty youth and young adults applications.
Our Mission
It is the mission of Empowerment Tools Coalition to elevate all participants, clients, staff and volunteers to be the best they can be. We will also act as an incubator for new organizations to help them to stabilize and get a firm foundation for their programs. We will collaborate, cooperate and conjoin when necessary to provide the best services to all involved.
We also have (6) six direct service community programs that we have produced for over (25) twenty-five years. Rites of Passage after school mentoring program for over (27) twenty-seven, The WJP Basketball Program for over (24) twenty-four years, the Dennis McGurk ‘Hooked on Fishing” Not on Drugs Fishing Derby for over (23) twenty-three years, Youth employment program for over (25) twenty-five years and Trunk or Treat for over (10) ten years.
